Watercolor
My paintings are inspired by photos that I have taken. Whether from nature, doors, and windows on old buildings, intriguing faces, or an Italian fishing boat, I usually know when I take the photo that it will eventually become a painting.
Oils & Pastels
Although I paint realistically, my goal is never realism for its own sake but to express my love for light, color, form, and even the medium of oil itself, especially when working with the painting
knife, which yields beautiful and often surprising effects in exchange for a measure of control.
Watercolor
Acrylic
I have lived in WNC for over 25 years. This place has my heart, and is why I continually paint the breathtaking landscapes all around us. When in my studio, I am always trying to recapture the beauty. My hope is that my art draws the viewer into the peace that is found in nature.
Acrylic
As an artist, I strive to dazzle the viewer by romancing moments in nature
Oils
Mostly in oils and sometimes watercolor, I paint landscapes en plein air. An everyday scene, a lingering sunset, a misty mountain, rocks glistening in a stream—any of these may inspire a piece. I am arrested and fascinated by God's magnificence as reflected in this ever-changing world.
Oils
I have only a desire to paint what is my own – wholly and completely from within – along with the offerings of the earth and her daily miracles of color and light. When I begin a painting, I take inspiration from a beautiful light, color, form or texture and then continue working through observation.
My love of art started early, as my mother often pointed out nature's beauty in a sunset or a cloud-filled sky. I love oil on canvas to portray both realism and my abstract work, with color, shape, texture and value. Teachers and role models inspired me, so I know how vital teachers are to the students in their care.
Oils
I live near the smoky mountains in TN with my husband, daughter and our little boy. I am a live
event painter for parties and weddings, capturing lifelong memories into fine art. With a life
steeped in film and studio arts, you'll find motion and dance in my visual storytelling.
Colored Pencil
Colored pencil has been my passion and my medium for 39 years. I have been blessed to make a living doing what I love. My subject matter ranges from the Biltmore Estate to the Blue Ridge Parkway to the animals in the Smoky Mountain National Park. My gallery celebrates 40 years in 2024!
Oils
Kelly is an American Representational Painter with a varied and expansive artistic background. Born and raised in the Appalachians of Western North Carolina, she uses elements from the landscape with its flora and fauna to compose beautiful and imaginative paintings and portraits.
Oils
I describe my style as "painterly realism" in oil, and strive for clear color, a strong focal point, and a good design. Living in Western North Carolina provides all the subject matter one could ever desire. We are surrounded by our beautiful natural world.
Oils
In her home studio or en plein air, Sun strives to create each painting better than the last, aiming to convey the essence of what she sees and feels. Her evolving style reflects her passion for capturing life’s fleeting moments with vibrant light, nuanced shadows, and the interplay of hard and soft lines
PLEASE DO CHAT WITH ME AS I CREATE!
Alongside your one-hour focused painters, meet QuickDraw demo artists creating in slower mediums like clay, wood, wax, fiber, textile, or metal, whose processes cannot be completed in the hour. Their lack of time constraint lets you engage and chat with them during the QD hour.
Enjoy, watch and learn as they bring to life some of the many steps involved in creating their works. Demo artists bring an already-made art piece that you can bid on and buy in the silent auction!

Medium: Torn Paper Collage
Wendy studied at SUNY-Potsdam, raised a son and worked in accounting. She was drawn to the eye-catching technique of paper collage. She uses antique papers and maps, dictionaries and sheet music. Her pet commissions win raves from owners.
Medium: Mosaic
Pam is a self-taught mosaic artist, continuing to follow her muse after studying Arabic art and living in the Middle East. She likes to incorporate glass, tile & pottery in her designs. Her base surfaces are often interesting and richly textural items from across the globe.
Medium: Jewelry
My mountain-inspired collection pays homage to the beauty of the Appalachian mountains. Designs are subtle and organic, with a play of textures and finishes that evoke nature at its best.
Medium: Stained Glass
Let me design a window for your old, interesting or unique frame. I love the challenge and creativity of designing a one-of-a-kind window to complement your room and decor. All of my windows are custom designed at my home studio located in Waynesville, North Carolina.
Medium: Wood Turning
I find creative balance and satisfaction in manipulating the forms I can produce on the lathe. My designs grow out of an initial respect for the rarity and extraordinary aesthetic qualities of the woods I use. Unusual materials deserve unusual presentations, so I search for unexpected forms that will reveal the exotic character of the woods.
