There are three levels of participation for artists:
Arrival: Race-the Clock and Demo Artists bring their kits and set up studios 3:00-3:45pm. Volunteer students and art teachers will help you load in. Set up your studio, add your lighting and informational items, and relax center. If you want to chat to dispel nerves, art students would love to hear your story.
Demonstrations: If you are a demo artist not racing the clock (wood, jewelry, fiber, clay, glass, encaustic, stained glass, jewelry) you can begin at 4:30 or before, as guests arrive to watch you create. Demo artists' pre-made artwork will be on display for bidding from 4:30-6pm. Enjoy the good conversations as you meet your next collector.
Little Gems: artworks will be on display for immediate purchase from 4:30pm-until closing, all Little Gems pieces must be received by QuickDraw by May 20, 2024.
The Live QuickDraw Hour: If you are racing the clock (paint/colored pencil/mixed media), you may start with a prepped / toned surface and a sketch. Starter bell dings at 5, 5:30, 5:45 and ends the live hour at 6:00pm sharp.
Auction Preview: At 6:00pm race-the-clock artists are allowed 15 minutes to frame, sign and transfer the finished work to an easel in the pavilion for the live auction. Faster is better. We need it asap to take photos for the auction slide show. Take a breath, break down your kits and take downstairs to the artists' room. Move into pavilion for the auction followed by dinner.
The Auction: A lively auctioneer will lead your buyers into bidding, donors to give, and teachers to realize they will have funds to supply their student projects. Pose with your buyer, and enjoy your dinner and the satisfaction of helping inspire the next-gen of artists, and sharing a peek at your creative process.
The Funding After: Artists are required to donate 50% (and are welcome to donate up to 100%) of the art sale price, all of which will be used to fund teacher supply lists and scholarships for seniors.
Dinner: included for all Race-the-Clock and Demo Artists
